I'm a Sagittarius (Sun) going through a breakup with a Capricorn (Sun) that has already moved on with another person. Will we get back together or have a friendship?- Michelle

Your question is a good example of a topic that splits many Astrologers. Does one’s chart dictate what happens in one’s life, or does it simply show the propensity of what could happen to the Chart Holder.

I tend to err more toward the latter point, as Fate is something that I think can be read in someone’s Natal Chart, but I’m not certain it can be read like one reads the words of a book to gather meaning.

I take it as like being able to walk outside and immediately feel whether or not its about to storm: the atmosphere is pressing down on you, the humidity clings to your skin, and the smell of rain is just so faintly coming from the distance. You know it’s about to rain, but you can’t tell if it’s going to be a bad thunderstorm or a heavy downpour.

You don’t know from which direction the rain is coming (unless you’re really good at meteorology) or how long the rain will last.

Extended metaphor aside, I cannot tell from looking at even your entire Natal Chart and theirs whether or not the two of you will decided to get back together.

Plus, only having been giving your Sun Signs, I am even less able to consider the tendencies that may dictate whether you’re better off in a romantic relationship with them, versus a platonic one, versus no relationship at all.

What I can say is that a Capricorn Sun is born with an amazing amount of endurance and stamina when it comes to relationships.

If they’ve chosen to end one with you, it took a considerable amount of time and a hefty amount of thinking for them to cut off your relationship entirely. Now did they tell you how they were feeling the whole time they were feeling it? Who knows.

Sagittarius Sun, I recommend that you utilize your own ability to move on rather quickly and do so. A Capricorn Sun has formed a boundary between themselves and you, and honestly, it will take an act of god or an act of congress to make them change their minds, of course dependent upon the rest of their chart.

Not to get too deep into your therapist’s or counselor’s territory here, but if you want a friendship with them, let them know that that is something you’d want, and allow them to reach back out to you.

The ball will be in their court and whether or not they choose to reach out will be your answer.
