Spotting a Leo Rising

With the death, resurrection, and ultimate bastardized zombification (I coined a word there, methinks) of TikTok, I will be making long-form versions of those videos on “the YouTube”, as my high school history teacher would say.

With the nearly the first half of this series out, I have definitely been looking at my analytics. Seven subscribers, at present, even if most of them are my friends; I can’t wait to see what weekly video uploads will do for that number.

This is one of the many ways I will use pop culture to help teach you guys about astrology. The faces, bodies, and lives of celebrities can give us good clues about their rising sign.

Thus, when people we know share those attributes and circumstances, we may be able to rectify someones entire chart. All of this done just by observing similarities and coincidences.

Celebrities (from L-R):

  • Stephen Curry: Pisces Sun, Aquarius Moon, Aries* Midheaven

  • Alexa Demie: Sagittarius Sun, Libra Moon, and Taurus Midheaven

  • Tyler, the Creator: Pisces Sun, Scorpio Moon, and Taurus Midheaven

  • Jennette McCurdy: Cancer Sun, Taurus Moon, Aries Midheaven

  • Miranda Cosgrove: Taurus Sun, Pisces Moon, Aries Midheaven

  • Nick Jonas: Virgo Sun, Taurus Moon, Taurus Midheaven

  • Victoria Monét: Taurus Sun, Virgo Moon, Taurus Midheaven

  • Drake: Scorpio Sun, Cancer Moon, Taurus Midheaven

*A whole sign chart for a Leo rising would have their Midheaven in Taurus, like most of these folks do, but I read charts using the Placidus system. This means that all of the Angles (Ascendant/Rising, Imum Coeli (IC)/4th House Cusp, Descendant/7th House Cusp, and Midheaven/Medium Coeli (MC)) aren’t always 90º apart, like Leo and Taurus are.

That said, having your Ascendant and MC in the same element (in this case, Fire) seems to enhance the Leo’s tendency to stand out on their own or above others. For example, Steph is noted for his 3-pointers, which is obviously a solo feat. Then there’s Jennette and Miranda who, while part of a trio on iCarly, both stood out on their own. Miranda was famous before and after iCarly, while Jennette’s true fame came from her one-woman show turned memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died.
